Your essential guide to concert day
A checklist for parents and students
COSTUMES
Each student will be issued with a costume relevant to their routine(s) and will be charged a hire fee.

ADDITIONAL ATTIRE
All students will be required to wear the following items - some you may already own, others you might need to purchase. Please ensure that all items are clearly labelled with your child's name or initials.

Underwear
All students are to wear either a nude or flesh coloured leotard, bodysuit or briefs and a crop top. This is important for modesty reasons when changing backstage. It also helps to create a nice line under costumes and prevents regular underwear from showing outside the costumes. Underwear items can be purchased at Spangles, Bloch, Big W or Best & Less.
Tights
Tights are required for all students in ballet, lyrical and jazz*
-
Ballet and Jazz students are to wear full footed Theatrical pink ballet tights
-
Lyrical students (who may also take other classes) are to wear convertible Theatrical pink ballet tights.
Tights can be purchased at Spangles or Bloch. * Ballet tights are not required for those students who only participate in Hip Hop classes.
Shoes
Please ensure all shoes are clean and free from damage.
-
Ballet - pink ballet shoes
-
Lyrical - flesh coloured foot thongs
-
Jazz - black elastaboot jazz shoes
-
Hip Hop - plain white leather look sneakers (no colours or feature panels)
Shoes can be purchased from Spangles or Bloch.
Sneakers can be purchased cheaply from Kmart, Big W or your preferred outlet.
Socks
Hip Hop ONLY. Long white socks.
Socks will be supplied by Little Lights Dance.
HAIR
All students are required to wear their hair in a neat and tidy ballet bun. View how to guides here.
-
Hair is to be pulled straight back with no visible parting
-
All fringes and bangs should be gelled back, secured with bobby pins and sprayed with a strong hold hairspray
-
All buns should be secured with hair ties, bun pins, hair gel, strong hold hair spray and a hair net that matches your child's hair colour
-
Students with short hair may need to use a bun donut to gain the required look
-
Guides for creating neat and tidy ballet buns can be found on YouTube here . Your child's teacher can provide additional guidance should it be required.
Hair items are easily sourced from your local supermarket or pharmacy, however hair nets and bun donuts may require a visit to Spangles or Bloch.
MAKEUP
A little goes a long way! Whilst makeup is not essential, the following items may assist your child feel ready for the stage. We recommend:

ATTENDANCE
Attendance at class in the lead up to concert is really important. This allows all students to learn the routine and support each other with spacing and any partner work. Unless in the event of major or contagious illness, please attend all classes during term 3.
Students not participating in the concert will continue to learn dance techniques and the concert choreography.
